Paid to Click

There are two types of on-site paid to click ad:

Unique Visitor Paid to Click: Member may click to visit the site and obtain credit ONCE ONLY. This type of ad is suitable for sites which require a one-time sign-up for services, etc., and will attract new clickers as new members join the site. The lockout is achieved by simply setting the repeat click time period to "0" in the Ad Manager.

Daily Visit Paid to Click: These are the same as normal Paid to Click ads, but members may click once every 24 hours to receive credit. Ideal for promoting search ad sites, shopping portals, quiz sites, etc. If members click on the link before the 24 hour time period has elapsed, they will see a message to the effect that they have already visited the site, and that they should try again later.

The set-up procedure for Paid to Click ads is similar to that for Paid E-mails. Note that it is not possible to target this type of advertising by country or subject.

Pricing Paid to Click Ads

You should adopt the same pricing policy used for pricing paid e-mails, as the mathematics are exactly the same for determining ad costs. Don't forget to keep an eye on your competitors' prices, and match them if you can.

Copying and Pasting the Ad Code

When uploading ads from paying advertisers, be sure that the http:// portion of the site address is included, otherwise clicking on the ad will bring up a "Page Not Found" error.

Sometimes, you may need to separate the site address from the banner address for the code to work with Cash Crusader, as the software only accepts separate site and banner addresses for Paid to Click ads.

For example, say a customer requires the following (fictitious) affiliate code to be uploaded as a banner ad:

<a href=”http://www.afprogs.com/cread.php?s=93764&v=1868&q=71181&r=60621”><img src=”http://www.afprogs.com/cshow.php?s=93764&v=1868&q=71181&r=60621” border=”0”></a>

The first part of the code is invariably the site address, so start by extracting everything from between the first set of quotation marks, thus:

http://www.afprogs.com/cread.php?s=93764&v=1868&q=71181&r=60621

You can enter that portion into the Paid-Link URL field of the Cash Crusader Paid to Click ad upload form.

Then, do the same thing with the next portion of code, i.e. just extract everything inside of the second pair of quotation marks:

http://www.afprogs.com/cshow.php?s=93764&v=1868&q=71181&r=60621

This is your banner address, which can now be entered into the Banner URL field of the ad form. That's it - you're done! It seems complicated at first, but once you have done this a couple of times, and you learn to recognize the required snippets of code, it will become second nature.

When copying the code from affiliate networks, make sure that you do not copy any of the quotation marks accidentally, because this will invalidate the affiliate code, and your sales/clicks/leads will not be tracked. If this happens, the affiliate network will not pay you, so get it right first time to save embarrassment!
